the deckhouse bathroom renovation project is a budget-conscious reconsideration of a secondary bathroom within a 1960’s mcm home in massachusetts. the original tile, plumbing fixtures, and vanity had deteriorated and required replacement, however the original bathtub was in decent condition and could remain to save cost. the proposal is carefully considered to align with the home’s original style. classic mid-century design motifs are combined with contemporary materials for longevity. the material palette is inspired by the home’s own architecture, as well as its lush, forested natural surroundings.
